Who this is
ChordSheetz is an app for iPhone and iPad, published by [Your name or company], [address], [country]. Questions about this policy go to privacy@chordsheetz.com.
This policy covers the ChordSheetz app and the chordsheetz.com website.
What the app stores, and where
Everything you create in ChordSheetz — songs, chord sheets, setlists, singers, keys, capo settings, tempos, notes and any files you attach — is written to the app's own storage on your device. It stays there.
The app also stores your preferences (theme, chord size, notation style, whether sync is on) in the system preferences store on the device. Those are read and written only by ChordSheetz.
What the app sends, and where
The app makes no network requests of its own. The only networking anywhere in it is Apple's CloudKit, and only for the two things you switch on yourself:
- iCloud sync. Off by default. When you turn it on, your library is stored in your own iCloud account so it appears on your other devices. It is governed by Apple's iCloud terms and privacy policy, and the publisher of ChordSheetz has no access to it.
- Sharing with bandmates. When you invite someone into your library, or send a single song or setlist as a file, that content travels through Apple's sharing infrastructure to the people you chose. Songs you mark Private are excluded from a shared library.
Files you share by AirDrop, Mail, Messages or Files go wherever you send them and are handled by whichever service you picked.
What is not collected
- No account, sign-up, email address or password.
- No analytics, crash reporting, telemetry or usage measurement.
- No advertising, ad identifiers or tracking across apps or websites.
- No third-party SDKs of any kind.
- No location, contacts, microphone or camera access beyond a file you deliberately pick or scan.
ChordSheetz does not track you as defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework, and nothing in it is sold or shared with anyone for any purpose.
Attached files
When you attach a PDF, scan or photo to a song, a copy is stored inside the app's own storage. It is included when that song syncs to your own devices, and when you deliberately share that song. It is not uploaded anywhere else.
Children
ChordSheetz is a general-audience tool for musicians. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Your control
Because nothing is held by the publisher, there is nothing to request, correct or delete from us. You control your own data directly:
- Turn iCloud sync off at any time in Library & Sync.
- Stop sharing a library, or remove a person, from the same screen.
- Delete the app to remove its on-device storage; manage the iCloud copy in the system Settings app under your Apple Account.
If you are in the EU or UK, the GDPR rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection all apply — and in practice each is exercised through the controls above, since the publisher holds no copy of your data.
The website
chordsheetz.com is a static site with no accounts, no comment forms and no advertising or analytics scripts. It is served by Cloudflare, which processes standard request data such as IP address for security and delivery. Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives the request as part of serving the font file.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version appears on this page with a new date above. Substantive changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
